Bridge the Gap 2014 total revealed!

This year, over 1800 people explored the grounds of ten beautiful Cambridge Colleges, discovering places that they ‘never knew existed’ right on their doorstep.

The event which attracts individuals, families, students and work colleagues raised an astounding £37,000, which will be split equally between Arthur Rank Hospice Charity and Press Relief, the community fund of the Cambridge News.

The total was revealed at the recognition event held last night at The Pitt Building on Trumpington Street. The evening was an opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed to event across its 13 years, and also a chance to congratulate the highest adult, child and team fundraiser as well as this year’s biggest team.

Donna Talbot, Fundraising & Marketing Manager for the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity said ’Our staff and volunteers love being part of this event and we are always thrilled to see so many of our supporters [there].The money raised will enable us to fund more than 71 individual episodes of Hospice at Home.’

Hospice at Home is a very valuable service operated from Arthur Rank Hospice, which enables patients and their families across Cambridgeshire to receive care and support which allows them to remain in the comfort of their own homes surrounded by their loved ones in their last days of life.

Bridge the Gap is a special event that brings together some of the best of Cambridge for the whole community to enjoy. The date for next year is Sunday 13th September so save the date and tell your friends!
