1:30pm-3:30pm on Sunday 21 September
St Augustine's Church and Community Centre, 101 Richmond Rd, CB4 3PS
Join artist Jacky Oliver for a unique creative workshop that invites community members and those with ties to the area to explore the rich heritage of Histon Road.
The workshop provides an opportunity to be inspired by and engage with the fascinating research gathered by Jacky Oliver and local historian Michelle Bullivant. We warmly encourage participants to bring along personal photos and share cherished memories, or simply come to learn more about this exciting project.
The workshop will incorporate drawing and writing, and include a diverse array of materials and techniques for participants to collaborate on a vibrant collage. The insights and material collected will shape a new artwork commissioned for the homes being built on the former Murketts ATS site, which is being designed to celebrate the unique heritage, culture, and character of this remarkable part of Cambridge.
All ages are welcome, children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and all materials will be provided.
The event is free, however booking is essential. To secure your place please use the Eventbrite link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/making-your-mark-creative-responses-to-hi...
If you are joining us from the Richmond Road guided heritage walk, please remember to book places for both events.
Jacky Oliver brings over 20 years of experience in creating impactful public art through community involvement, with projects across various settings, including schools, hospitals, and even a botanic garden. www.jackyoliver.co.uk
