For those interested in a different tour of Cambridge, the Uncomfortable Cambridge Highlights tour engages with historical memory and highlights diverse stories in the beautiful city centre.
Our tours provide attendees with a good introduction to the city, while going beyond the traditional narratives. We highlight histories of race, gender, class, and disability, while raising uncomfortable questions about the lasting legacies of empire. All our guides are university researchers who are passionate about the city, its people, and its diverse history.
Tours are well-researched and designed to be intellectually stimulating and platform critical analysis. We encourage attendees to contribute to discussions during the tour which can hopefully be carried on long after the tour has ended with their friends, colleagues and family. Tour will take approximately 75 - 80 minutes.
