Tour the gardens of St John's College

11:00am on Saturday 14 September

St John's College, The Great Gate, St John's Street, CB2 1TW

**This event is now fully booked. If you are still interested in attending, please join the waiting list via Eventbrite**

The grounds and gardens at St John’s are undoubtedly one of the College’s greatest assets. Over the last five centuries a wide variety of architectural styles and landscaping techniques have been used to produce the gardens, courts and buildings seen today.

The tour will begin beside the recent plantings next to the Great Gate on St John’s Street. It will then progress through the three old red-brick courts and over the Kitchen Bridge to the long symmetrical herbaceous borders in front of New Court.

It will continue across the Backs to the Fellows’ and Scholars’ Gardens, before passing through a wild flower meadow towards the College’s greenhouse and School of Pythagoras.

We will then loop back across the River Cam via the Boston Ivy covered wall of New Court and the Bridge of Sighs, before returning to St John’s Street through Chapel Court and Forecourt.

On Saturday 14 September, St John's Old Library will also be open to visit.
