Tour of Mullard Radio Astronomy Observatory

10:00am-1:30pm on Saturday 7 September

Mullard Radio Astronomy Observatory, Lords Bridge Barton, CB23 7AE

**We have seen exceptional demand for this event and as such we have had to close the waiting list. Apologies for any inconvenience and disappointment**

New for Open Cambridge 2024, join us for a tour of the Mullard Radio Astronomy Observatory at Lord's Bridge near Barton. The tour will start with a 15 minute introduction at the Station House followed by a trip around the site with a stop at each location.

On the tour, you’ll be taken around the site and learn more about the radio telescopes on the site including the One-Mile Telescope, 5-km Ryle Telescope, and the Arcminute Microkelvin Imager. You’ll also see inside some of the control rooms and learn about the unique history of the site and some of the important discoveries made here.

Please note: part of the tour will need to be undertaken via a car so you may be asked to car share with other attendees on the tour to limit the number of vehicles on site.

We expected this tour to be extremely popular but do have to limit the number of people we can have on site at any one time. We will operate a waiting list and would encourage people to book a spot only if they are 100% sure they will be able to attend.
