Open Cambridge is open for submissions from community organisations!

Cambridge's annual heritage and culture festival is looking for local community organisations - big and small - to take part in 2024.

Interested in taking part in Open Cambridge 2024?

Open Cambridge will run from 6-15 September alongside the national Heritage Open Days festival and is a 10-day celebration of heritage, culture and community.

This year’s Heritage Open Day theme is Routes-Networks-Connections if that resonates with you, although can submit any event or activity through Open Cambridge – linking to the theme is not essential!

The festival is now open for submissions from community organisations, large or small, with the deadline to submit events on 5 July.

More information about how to submit events and other important information can be found on our coordinator’s hub here

Why take part? Open Cambridge celebrates the spaces, people and histories of Cambridge. It offers a platform for local organisations, community initiatives and learning institutions to open their doors to the public and share their unique stories. The University’s Public Engagement team support the administration, marketing and promotion of the programme.

Criteria: Your event must be free for everyone. It must be something not usually available for the public to attend or normally a charge occurs. It must fall within the dates of the festival.

What we can do? The Open Cambridge team will support you through the process all the way to event delivery. We can: upload your event to the system, organise ticketing (if required), offer support and guidance around venues, risk assessments and event logistics. There is more information about how we can support you on our coordinator's hub.

If you would like to take part and face financial barriers to do so, or would like to make your event more accessible to excluded audiences but lack the resources to do so please get in touch and we can provide guidance on our accessibility budget support.
