Attending the Festival

We want everyone to enjoy Open Cambridge and have a great experience at our events

• There is no need to book for events unless otherwise stated.
• There may still be spaces available at events which are listed as ‘pre book’; you are welcome to turn up and enquire on the day.
• Please note that entry may be refused if the venue is full or if you are late, even if you have made a booking.
• Your attendance at any Festival event signifies your agreement to comply with the guidelines for attendance (pdf).
• All events are free-of-charge unless otherwise stated.
• Please note that children should be accompanied at all times and use the minimum age guide indicated in the event description. For a number of events those under the minimum age may not be admitted due to the nature and content of the event. Please call ahead to check.

Getting to central Cambridge

  • On foot: all parts of the City of Cambridge are easily accessible.
  • By car: from the South and from London, Cambridge is a short trip up the M11 motorway, exit at junction 9 onto the A11.
    From the North, the A1 and M1 link to the A14 dual carriageway straight to the City
  • By bus: take advantage of one of the five Park and Ride Bus stations situated in and around Cambridge.
  • By train: the railway station is 15-minute walk from the city centre. Buses travel frequently into the centre from the station. In addition, there is a regular train and coach service from London Stansted Airport, which is less than 30 miles from the centre of Cambridge.
