Art Therapy taster session

2:00pm-4:00pm on Thursday 14 September

Quaker Meeting House , 12 Jesus Lane , CB5 8BA

Art therapy involves art activities within therapy sessions. These sessions are supported by a professionally trained Art Therapist. For these sessions it is not necessary to have any skills or experience in art making, and people of all ages can benefit from this type of therapy.
Everyone will have different experiences of art therapy, but in general they aim to:
- enable us to communicate thoughts and feelings that we find difficult to talk about
- assist us to make sense of things and understand ourselves better
- offer us a safe place with someone who won't judge us
- help us to re-evaluate problems or difficult situations
- support us in understanding complicated feelings or difficult experiences
- give us an opportunity to connect with other people.

This workshop will be led by Susan Mealing HCPC. BAAT Registered, who offers weekly art therapy to refugees in the Quaker Meeting House.
This event is hosted by Cambridge Quakers. To find out more about Quakers visit: quaker.org.uk/about-quakers
